All human beings are born with three gunas (innate qualities and tendencies) –
Sattva, Rajas & Tamas says, The Bhagavad-Gita
What do they mean?
Sattva – Balance, Joy, Harmony, Intelligence, Sensible
Rajas – Greed, Movement, Change, Passion
Tamas – Recklessness, Delusion, Laziness
So, what do these gunas got to do with our investing behaviour
Isn’t it quite simple ?
While managing one’s personal money matters or investing, embrace – SATTVA – have the balance, be sensible and make investments which are in harmony with your life
Try to avoid RAJAS – the greed of a higher return, the passion for accumulating money & more money, the momentum of running and chasing investment avenues which are not in harmony with our life & unnecessarily changing or churning investment portfolios in pursuit of greed
Finally, under any circumstance, always and ever avoid the TAMAS – the recklessness of handling money, especially while spending or borrowing, leaving money matters unresolved, staying in delusion that money will just fall into our lap doing nothing or investing into the stock market (the perceptive feel of Easy Money)
If anyone says that, history teaches us… yes, these are the simple but the most effective life truths that history teaches us
Stay in the SATTVA zone
Avoid RAJAS & TAMAS zones
