32 years of Stack data on S&P BSE Sensex returns
Inspired from a recent image I came across, I tried to stack up the calendar year returns of our own S&P BSE Sensex over the last 32 years.
Easy for reference
Some basic data analysis brings us to the below conclusions on this Calendar Year returns 👇🏼
24 calendar years of positive returns delivered – that’s about 75% of the time
18 calendar years of delivering over 10% returns – that’s about 56.25% of the time
11 calendar years of delivering over 20% returns – about 34.38% of the time
6 calendar years of delivering over 40% returns – about 18.75% of the time
and yet………..
People either talk about making extraordinary gains or losses only 🤐 in an equity market
The tide and time are always on an investor’s side, if and only they try to just learn from a bit of history
Majority of the Investors generally TIME the market at the wrong time (buy or a sell)
Majority of the investors generally ignore the TIME in the market, too
