‘STAR’ Ratings

Do they really matter?

I don’t think so

One of my MF schemes portfolio, the schemes star rating on VR & my CAGR on the same

Yes…the star ratings change but that can never be the basis for investing today

The star ratings keep changing every quarter I suppose ….

Quantitative Analysis is the Objective Past

Qualitative Analysis is the Subjective Future

Note: My investment timeframes are different in each of the schemes

Not everything is invested on a single day or from a point to point

By the way….the most consistent returns over a long timeframe have come in from the (latest) 2 star rated schemes 😁

and…..in this portfolio –

I hold the least 4 & 5 star rated schemes from VR 😂

But my CAGR still shows up as about 17% (as of yesterday’s close – and after a market fall of close to 7%) 😌

Should we believe in the Stars?

Yes ‘& or’ No

And I continue to say what I always say…….

Everyone has a View but none has a Clue (for sure on the future & many a times on the past)

Stars or No stars
