Realistic or Unrealistic estimates?

IIT Chennai is ranked # 1, academically in India

But….

CSC (Computer Science) in IIT Mumbai (Computer Science) rules the roost

Apparently… In 2022 – of the 43,000 who qualified for JEE Advanced – 16,585 opted IIT Mumbai’s CSC as their first choice in counselling. That’s a whopping 38.57% choosing it

Hmm…..what I understand is, most of these kids are hopeless in their realistic estimates on the chances of an admission into that course…..will they end up as good Engineers 🤔 ooops, sorry – can’t possibly call them engineers

I just don’t understand this idiotic choice made by atleast 16,000 kids….assuming that the top 500 + were competing for less than 100 seats in CSC.

Now, why this craze?

Apparently most students opt for it because passing out from IIT Mumbai CSC more or less assures them a ₹ 50 L package on graduation 🤯🤯🤯….that’s the survey among the students 🤷🏼‍♂️

Of the top 100 ranked students, 90 of them opted for it as the first choice but only 69 of them made the cut
Realistic estimates in life, money or investments……The one who holds it has sanity, the rest are living in clouds
