Can 8 – 10 year old kids be taught, Money Matters?

Above ?? is an E Poster using Microsoft Word by Abhiram (my 10 yr old son) on SPENDING & basic steps in money management.

Background:

I haven’t done an illustration for some weeks now ?

A couple of days ago, Abhiram asked me on why I wasn’t creating an illustration for “themoneythought” blog

Out of curiosity on the outcome, I asked him to make one based on what we kept discussing on money over the last year or two

The carrot was…. We’ll post it in the blog.

Above is the output with no inputs from my end ?

Thanks to covid & virtual classes, looks like some decent self learnt skill sets developed on Office suit (word, powerpoint etc.)

If parents / teachers / schools / society etc. think that money concepts can’t be taught to 8 – 10 yr olds; think again

They understand way better than fully grown adults ?

  1. Kudos to abhiram and food for thought to many kids of his age. Many children draw their financial behaviour from their parents. It’s the generation of digital natives and their thought processes will be different too.

    1. Thank you so much for the comment on the post. Yes, its true that financial behaviour gets drawn out from parents, especially the very visible Spending part of the behaviour. Thank you.

  2. Great! Succession planning is naturally in built.
At this so young age, he observed that you have not created an illustration for your blog for some time, he keenly understood your postings and on his own prepared a nice one for you to post. Really proud son. Wishing him all the success! ???
